Due to volatile fuel prices we operate a Fuel Surcharge.

Based on the current AA Fuel Price Report, Diesel is costing £1.154p a litre (excluding VAT), therefore the current Fuel Surcharge for the month of January remains at:

9.75% Fuel Surcharge (as of 1st January 2012)

The formula behind the Fuel Surcharge is:
We began to introduce a Fuel Surcharge in 2005 when the price for fuel in July of that year was £0.77p a litre (excluding VAT), each 1p movement up or down from the monthly AA fuel report results in a shift of 0.25%. Only shifts of 0.25% are implemented, where there is a shift of less than 0.25% the Fuel Surcharge remains unchanged.

Example: November 2011's average Diesel price on the AA Fuel Report was 115.4p (excluding VAT) so = 115.4 – 77 = 38.4 x 0.25 = 9.6%. Due to the fact the change was less than 0.25% the Fuel Surcharge remained the same as the previous month at 9.75%.
